Should You Add a Holiday Party to Your Walt Disney World Trip?
If you’re planning a Walt Disney World trip for the 2026 holiday season, Disney just released some big updates.
Holiday party dates are now out, and there are also new Disney offers that may help make a holiday trip more affordable.
So the real question is not just, “Can we go to a Disney holiday party?”
The better question is, “Should we add one to our trip?”
What Are Disney’s Holiday Parties?
During the Christmas season, Walt Disney World offers special holiday events after regular park hours.
These are separately ticketed events, which means they are not included with a regular park ticket. If you want to attend, you need a separate party ticket.
For 2026, the two main options are:
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom
Disney Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios
Both are festive, but they have very different vibes.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is the classic Disney Christmas party.
This event takes place at Magic Kingdom and includes festive entertainment, the Christmas parade, fireworks, characters, cookies, cocoa, holiday music, and that full Main Street Christmas feeling.
If your family loves classic Christmas, Magic Kingdom, parades, and fireworks, this is probably the party you’ll be most drawn to.
2026 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party dates:
November 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20, 24, 25, 27, and 29
December 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, 18, 20, and 22
Disney Jollywood Nights
Disney Jollywood Nights takes place at Hollywood Studios and has more of an old-Hollywood Christmas theme.
This party feels a little more glamorous and entertainment-focused, with special shows, characters, music, themed areas, PhotoPass opportunities, and select attractions during the event.
If your family loves Hollywood Studios or wants something a little different than the classic Magic Kingdom Christmas party, this could be a fun option.
2026 Disney Jollywood Nights dates:
November 7, 14, 16, 21, 23, and 28
December 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, and 23
January 3 and 5
When Do Tickets Go On Sale?
Tickets go on sale for eligible Disney Resort guests on July 9, 2026.
Tickets go on sale for all other guests on July 16, 2026.
These events can sell out, especially dates closer to Christmas, so this is not something I would wait on if it’s important to your trip.
Are There Disney Holiday Deals Available?
Yes! Disney has also released new holiday season offers, which may help make a Walt Disney World trip more affordable.
The exact savings depend on your travel dates, resort, room type, and eligibility, so this is where it helps to have someone check the details for your specific trip.
Sometimes a promo makes a huge difference.
Sometimes it sounds better than it actually is.
That’s why I always recommend pricing it out instead of guessing.
Should You Add a Holiday Party?
Maybe.
A Disney holiday party can be absolutely worth it for the right family. It can give you a special experience that feels different from a regular park day.
But it is also an extra cost, and it may not be the best fit for every trip.
It may be worth it if your family loves Christmas, your kids can handle a later night, and you want something extra special during your vacation.
It may not be worth it if your trip is already packed, your kids go to bed early, or you are trying to keep the budget tighter.
My Honest Advice
Don’t add a Disney holiday party just because it exists.
Add it because it actually fits your family, your budget, and the kind of trip you want to have.
